PARIS FYI

Where to Stay in Paris

Hotels our guests came back and recommended.

Since we live here, we have not stayed in any of these ourselves. Every hotel on this list is here because someone who came to visit us stayed there and told us afterward that it was good. That is a narrower recommendation than a travel magazine gives you, but it is an honest one.

What matters more than the hotel. In Paris, the neighborhood and the nearest metro stop will shape your trip more than the star rating will. Anything within a few minutes of a metro line puts the whole city within about half an hour. We have added arrondissements below so you can judge that for yourself.

If you are coming to see us, tell us before you book. We can tell you whether a given address is a pleasant walk from the church or an awkward one, and that is usually the detail that makes or breaks a visit.
